A fun fact that many people don’t know about Appletree Point – it was the site of the first home ever built in Burlington, Vermont in 1773. According to an excerpt by local, Bob Blanchard, A man by the name of Felix Powell made his way to Burlington, which had been chartered in 1763, but was still unsettled. He staked out some land on Appletree Point that had been surveyed by Ira Allen. Powel filed a quit claim deed, cleared several acres and built a log cabin. That was the first house built in Burlington. Not only is Appletree Point a great place to live, but it holds historical significance as well!
